A Patient’s Guide to Finding a Good Family Dentist in Colorado Springs (80907)

You might need the services of a new family dentist in Colorado Springs. Perhaps they relocated to a new city. Perhaps their previous dentist has retired. Perhaps they’re new parents looking for a dentist for their boy. Whatever the cause, we don’t suggest waiting until you have a dental health emergency to find a dentist that meets your needs. When looking for the right dentist for you, keep the following five things in mind.

1. Location, Location, Location!

What is the distance between your home and the practice? Are you going to your child’s school or a sporting event? To your place of business? Make sure the distance isn’t so far that getting to your twice-yearly checkups is a big hassle. It’s a good idea to set a reasonable distance for you and your family, then figure out who the best dentist is within that radius. On the other hand, a dentist who is a little farther away may be worth it for other reasons!

2. Reputation Matters

What kind of feedback has the dentist received? What are the opinions of their other patients? Are they experts in oral health? Check out Yelp and Google reviews, and see if someone in your community, coworkers, or peer group has any experience with that specific dentist. If there might be some hidden gems, a lot of positive feedback is usually a good sign.

3. What Specialties Can They Claim?

A dental practice that operates close to you and has fantastic reviews might still not be right for you if they don’t offer some of the services you think you’re likely to need. How good are they with child patients? Do they offer cosmetic treatments? How much experience do they have with root canal therapy or treating gum disease? Do some research into a dentist’s specialties to see if they’re a good fit.

4. How Well Do They Fit Your Budget?

Even if a dental practice is close to you and has excellent reviews, it might not be right for you if they don’t have any of the services you think you’ll need. What kind of experience do they have with children? Do they have beauty services? What kind of experience do they have with root canal therapy and gum disease treatment? To see if a dentist’s specialties are a good match, do some research on them.

5. Patient Comfort

If you don’t feel at ease around a dentist or in their office, the other factors might not be as important to you. It’s a good idea to pay a practice you’re thinking about a visit early on just to get a feel for the place and the people who work there. Given how many patients suffer from dental distress, a good dentist would always put the patient’s comfort first.

Meanwhile, don’t forget to brush and floss your teeth!
